Recount Writing - Tautoro Cross Country.

I am learning to use the correct structure and language for Recount Writing.
Tautoro Cross Country
Ready, set, go!” shouted Whaea Rosina.
The race was at my teacher's house. Her name is Mrs Paraha. My whole school was there on Wednesday morning.
I started my race with 5 people. I was coming 5th but then I over took 2 people. First I over took 3 more people. Next I ran up the hill. It was very tiring.
My side felt like I got stabbed with a knife because I was running so fast up the hill. Next I got my first mark. I said,
“One more lap to go.” When I got down the hill Miss Simeon said, “Straight through the water V.J it’s not fun if you don’t run through the water.”  So I went straight through the water. I felt cool when I went through the silvery water.
Then I started to run around the cones.
My legs felt like wobbly jelly. My heart was pounding.  After that I ran through the last bit of the course.
I got tired so I had a little rest. My Uncle Joe said, “Aroha is catching up with you V.J.” So I started to run as fast as I could. Later on I said, “I made it.” I heard lots of people cheering. I felt so proud of myself. So I went to Whaea Dawnette. She said, “V.J you came first place.” I forgot

what else she said. Shortly after I had a kai. It was delicious. I felt super tired after cross country day.

Recount Writing-At the movies.

I am learning to use the correct structure and language for recount writing.
25 / 7 / 17
On Friday morning Me, Nana, Micoya, Kaharau and Paki drove to the movies in Kerikeri. We watched Despicable Me 3.
First at the movies we got popcorn. The popcorn was yummy and hot.
In the movies we sat down and the movie started. I felt amazed about the movie. Next there was a funny bit I was laughing hard out. It was so funny the whole room laughed. I said, “Hahahaha.” I felt pumped to see what was next.
I think that the Despicable Me 3 is the best movie ever.
I said to Kaharau, “Do you like this movie?”
He said, “I love this movie.”
Then Nana said, “Time to go home.”

I had a wonderful and surprising day.

Recount writing --- At the Marae

I am learning to use the correct structure and language for Recount Writing.
At the Marae
On Tuesday night me, Uncle Matt and Konrad drove to Matawaia Marae in Matawaia for my Nana Girl’s tangi.
When we arrived at the marae I saw heaps of people. They were getting the kai ready. I felt sad because Nana Girl died. Everyone was crying and feeling sorry for Nana Girl.
I saw Andy, my cousin, Cash, Rangimarie and Traeh.
First me Andy, Cash, Traeh and Rangimarie were playing tiggy. Andy always wants to be in because he is the fastest.  I was running as fast as I could.
When Nana Girl arrived at the marae we were still playing outside and then we had to go in the whare to see Nana Girl. People were crying and feeling very sad. Everyone started doing a mihi for her and we were singing songs. I was listening and hearing people’s mihi to Nana Girl. I felt very sad and sorry for Nana Girl’s family.
After that it was Kai time. So I washed my hands and had a feed. The Kai was delicious and very yummy.
Then I went back outside. It was very cold. I felt so cold from the wind. It was as cold as ice.

When I got into the marae I sat down and had a rest. Later on my Mum called me to go home.
