Recount Writing - Tautoro Cross Country.

I am learning to use the correct structure and language for Recount Writing.
Tautoro Cross Country
Ready, set, go!” shouted Whaea Rosina.
The race was at my teacher's house. Her name is Mrs Paraha. My whole school was there on Wednesday morning.
I started my race with 5 people. I was coming 5th but then I over took 2 people. First I over took 3 more people. Next I ran up the hill. It was very tiring.
My side felt like I got stabbed with a knife because I was running so fast up the hill. Next I got my first mark. I said,
“One more lap to go.” When I got down the hill Miss Simeon said, “Straight through the water V.J it’s not fun if you don’t run through the water.”  So I went straight through the water. I felt cool when I went through the silvery water.
Then I started to run around the cones.
My legs felt like wobbly jelly. My heart was pounding.  After that I ran through the last bit of the course.
I got tired so I had a little rest. My Uncle Joe said, “Aroha is catching up with you V.J.” So I started to run as fast as I could. Later on I said, “I made it.” I heard lots of people cheering. I felt so proud of myself. So I went to Whaea Dawnette. She said, “V.J you came first place.” I forgot

what else she said. Shortly after I had a kai. It was delicious. I felt super tired after cross country day.
